ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is an energy medicine that stimulates points on energetic pathways of the body, which moves the body out of states of imbalance and into harmony. From a Chinese medicine perspective, energetic imbalances are a cause of illness in the body. From a western standpoint, acupuncture releases endorphins, activates the parasympathetic system (rest & digest), decreases inflammation, relieves pain, balances hormones, and nudges the brain waves into theta state, the same state you get in states of deep rest and meditation. Regular acupuncture treatments can address not only pain, but mood imbalances, low immunity, stress, GI issues, fatigue and more.

CUPPING

Cupping has been used for centuries to help with pain, inflammation, and increasing blood flow, as well as promoting relaxation and a sense of well-being. Cupping can also help clear congestion of the lungs and stave off the development of a common cold. This is likely because cupping helps improve immune function by moving blood and lymphatic fluid throughout the body. The mechanism of cupping is essentially the inverse of a massage, whereby the tissue of the skin is drawn up into a cup via a suction technique. Within the tissue pulled up by the cups, blood flow increases to the vessels and capillaries, and as a result, these tissues receive nutrients and oxygen. As the tissue receives fresh blood, nutrients and oxygen, any old or stagnant blood in these tissues is pushed out.

Cleanse Programs

Cleanses are always tailor made for each patient. All cleanses I prescribe are designed to be safe, non-drastic and sustainable and are centered around organic whole foods. I recommend cleanses for patients complaining of feeling sluggish and fatigued, patients suffering from long term illnesses with stubborn or unresolvable symptoms, and patients who have reached a plateau in their healing or weight loss goals.

house calls & on site IVF embryo TRAnsfer services

All of my offerings are available via a house call or working on site with your fertility clinic before and after your embryo transfer procedure. I offer a monthly package for patients desiring high touch, private concierge level care. My service area is a 5 mile radius from West LA or West Hollywood, with additional charges for locations outside of this radius.

What to expect:

For your first visit, I will be going in depth into your medical history and getting clear on your health goals. Everything you share with me is a clue as to how I will develop your treatment plan. We will go into everything from your diet to how you feel about life. It’s not just about gathering a list of symptoms - every detail matters! Following, I will perform a Chinese medical diagnostic exam, palpate areas of the body that you may be experiencing pain, and then, based on all of the information gathered, I will put together your treatment plan.  Along with acupuncture, I may also incorporate tools such as e-stim (a painless electronic current that is attached to the needles), cupping, or gua sha. If you are desiring an integrative medicine approach, please see my functional medicine service offerings, which includes lab work such as a CBC, allergy testing, a stool test, or a nutritional evaluation of your blood.

Preparing for your appointment:

For your initial consultation + treatment, please expect to be here for approximately 90 minutes. For all follow up visits, please allow for approximately 60 minutes. Make sure you have eaten at least a small meal of some kind before your treatment. It is not safe to have acupuncture if you haven’t eaten that day, as it can cause fainting or dizziness. Wear loose fitting clothing. I also invite you to take notes in the week leading up to your appointment, so that you don’t forget to mention any important details that could help me put together your treatment plan. You can take notes such as moods, sleep patterns, digestive complaints, times of day or circumstances in which your issue is worse or better, and pain patterns (when the pain appears, how long it lasts, pain scale 1-10, where pain radiates, quality of pain such as dull or sharp).

I offer a variety of modalities that aim to address the mental, physical, and emotional aspects of healing.
Please call or email if you have specific questions that you would like addressed before choosing what is right for you.
